Today is a big day. I'm not only celebrating my 30th birthday, but joining the rest of the world to celebrate the 500 day countdown till Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremonies. There are major events and celebrations happening in Tokyo, so I figured I'd share some of that with you.
A 500 Days bus has been going around Tokyo for the past week as part of the big campaign.
2 big comemorative events have been planned:
On Saturday 7 April, at Mitsui Outlet Park in Tama Minami-Osawa, track-and-field athlete Kazumi Nakayama, and former wheelchair basketball player Shinji Negi made a public appearance, addressed the crowd and held paralympic experiences open to public. Japaense Comedian Ryota Yamasato joined them in the events.
And today, Saturday 13 April, exactly 500 days before the start of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Japanese badminton player Sarina Satomi hosted a talk with various Japanese celebrities during which they will discussed the appeal of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games events.
On both days, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch was on display on the stage.
I secretly wish I was in Tokyo celebrating my birthday while attending the '500 Days' events.
