Road to Paralympics

Shining a light for those on the road to their gold medal moment

OUR MISSION

Changing perceptions around the Paralympics and Paralympic athletes through brand empowerment and compelling storytelling.

OUR VISION

Creating a more balanced world where Paralympians are seen, heard and are treated with the same amount of respect as Olympians and are presented with the same opportunities as their counterparts.

About Me

It is my calling to empower the voices of athletes.

My name is Işıl Tanyeri. I also go by Ish or Ishel. Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, I am a marketing professional, pursuing my M.A. Degree in Integrated Marketing from NYU. I've been writing and developing content about adaptive athletes and adaptive sports for over seven years, mainly for a healthcare company, where I served as a Marketing Manager for the last 4 years. In 2016, I had the privilege of joining a team in Brazil to cover the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games as a volunteer journalist. I mainly interviewed the members of the U.S. Paralympic Men's and Women's Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Tennis, and Para--Canoe teams and had these stories published on an online magazine. This experience changed my life as I realized the athletes generally lacked the recognition in the media for their hard work, which led to poorer funding and sponsorship opportunities. As a marketer, my responsibility since then, has become to change and shape those perceptions through compelling storytelling whether in the form of a blog, social media, or events such as the ones I help organize at DK3. Contact me for questions about how I can help bring your personal or corporate brand to the next level.
