Advanced Technology to be used in Tokyo 2020

Tokyo 2020 has unveiled another exciting news. As part of the organization's commitment to technology and safety, Tokyo 2020 has partnered with NEC Corporation, a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner to provide face recognition system which will allow each athlete, staff member, and media personnel to be verified via the technology to prevent unauthorized people from entering the venues. This is the first time Olympic and Paralympic Games have incorporated this kind of technology which takes away the pressure from relying solely on the eyes of the security personnel and create a safe and secure space for athletes to perform their best.
