Japanese elementary students were invited to evaluate three designs that would determine the Olympic and Paralympic Games mascots for Tokyo 2020. Design A a set of two mascots, shown above, received the highest number of votes from classrooms. On the left is the Olympic mascot and on the right is Paralympic mascot.

In December 2017, Tokyo 2020 announced a shortlist of 3 sets after an intense review of over 2,000 entries during a nationwide competition. These 3 sets were then brought to the elemantary school students attention for a final vote. Names of the mascots will be announced in July or August of 2018. *anytime soon!*
