One Year to Go Events in Tokyo

July 24th, 2019 will mark one year until the Opening Ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Tokyo Organizing Committee has planned important events to celebrate this milestone in conjunction with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and other partners. From unveiling the medals and mascots and special city decorations in Nihonbashi for Tokyo 2020 to an official presentation of the progress report of the Tokyo 2020 CEO, the festivities plan to welcome residents, athletes and the media to participate and engage in celebrations form July 13th until August 9th, 2019. A more exclusive "1 Year to Go" ceremony will take place at the Tokyo International Forum on July 24th attendance for which will be invitation only. It is at this special ceremony will the design of the Olympic and Paralympic Medals will be revealed as well. The same day, Tokyo 2020 is hosting an all-day Olympic and Paralympic sports experience day with a special event "Let's 55 (GO GO)" where 55 different Olympic and Paralympic sports will be featured and can be experienced by everyone.
