17 athletes were named to represent Team USA at the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships in London from September 9-15, 2019. The team is comprised of 14 women and 3 men and it includes 11 paralympians and 7 defending world championships.

I met with one of these 17 athletes recently at the Angel City Games. Her name is Mallory Weggemann. She's a London 2012 Gold Medalist . She broke an American Record in 50 yard Butterfly this weekend, a record only she herself had established back in 2010 prior to her arm injury. While she hadn't seen the list of names yet, she looked confident that she would make it. I also had a brief interaction with Becca Myers on this list, who's (now a graduate) of my alma mater, Franklin & Marshall. She' earned multiple gold medals in Rio 2016.

These athletes are now heading to London to take gold in the Worlds. I have no doubt we'll be hearing about Mallory and Becca a lot in the coming months and year, leading up to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

An honor to meet American Record Holder in 50 yards Butterfly and Gold Medalist Mallory Weggemann and her husband Jeremy Snyder, her proud husband, partner at TFA Productions and experienced content marketer
